Robbie
My name is Robbie. I come from sunny Scotland. As the Director of Operations, I facilitate all of our programming, administration, and maintenance.
I have enjoyed kayaking from a young age and began professionally coaching in my teenage years. I started my coaching career at 16 years old working for local youth organizations, getting people out in boats once a week in the evenings. From there I built a career in the industry working in Europe, the UK, and now Canada. I feel very privileged to be where I am right now and I am passionate about introducing as many people as possible to the different opportunities that our sport, and learning in the outdoors, provides. I am excited to continue to offer a pathway into our sport for all ages and abilities.
Looking forward to boating with you this summer!
Ariane
My name is Ariane, I am excited to be back with BVKC for a second year as a kayak instructor.
I am an outdoor enthusiast who started kayaking 6 years ago in Québec. Since then, I have been travelling with my kayak all over the country, to South America and the US to discover different kayak communities and types of rivers.
I started instructing through Thompson Rivers University three years ago and fell in love with the art of teaching kayaking. With my education in psychology, biology and as an adventure guide, it makes me a complete instructor to understand and help every kayaker to progress and grow within this activity.
My goal is to share my love for water and kayaking while engaging our community in a safe and trustworthy environment. Making the kayaking courses inclusive to everyone and inspiring people to connect with nature is essential for me!
I am grateful to be able to share my passion through BVKC and excited to paddle with you all!
